Flying safely indoors.

The core reason DroneScan exists is to take people out of harm’s way at height. Operating the equipment safely is part of that.

Eye protection

Propellers spin at 10,000 rpm and can break when striking an object. Hard-hats with visor mounts are strongly recommended for anyone in the aisle during scanning.

Clear the aisle

Scanning runs should be conducted in aisles clear of other traffic and personnel, with the operator maintaining visual line of sight throughout.

Battery handling

Lithium batteries should be charged in a designated area, inspected for damage or swelling before use, and never charged unattended.

Obstruction awareness

Dangling wires, straps and loose packaging are entanglement hazards. Clear them from the flight path before a run begins.

Wireless discipline

Keep other wireless transmissions uncluttered and at low power so they do not interfere with the drone’s control and telemetry signals.

Induction & documentation

The one-week DroneScan project includes OHS documentation and site induction, so your team operates within your own safety framework.

Operators should also follow the civil aviation rules applicable in their country for indoor and commercial drone operation. We cover site-specific requirements during onsite training.
